Zip Return Policy?
Zip.co does not determine the return policy. The return policy is determined by each individual merchant. To start a return, reach out to the merchant from whom the original purchase was made. They can kickstart the return and refund process.
If the merchant notifies Zip of a refund, the Zip payment plan will be updated within 13 days of receiving notification from the merchant. This is Zip’s standard refund timeline and cannot be sped up. Refunds may take longer with some merchants, but will never exceed 21 days.
If an order didn’t arrive or was damaged, it is recommended to reach out to the merchant directly. The merchant's contact information can usually be found in the “Contact Us” section of their website.
Once a return is made, it can take a few days after the merchant has received the return, for them to process the return and issue the refund back to Zip. This is especially true when the order has been returned by mail, rather than making an in-store return.
A merchant may decide to issue a refund in the form of a gift card or store credit, instead of refunding the Zip Virtual Card. If a gift card or store credit is received as a refund, the remaining Zip installments are still due.
No need to contact Zip about the return. If the merchant issues the refund back to the Zip Virtual Card, the refund will automatically process through Zip’s system within 13 days of Zip receiving notification from the merchant. This is Zip’s standard refund window and cannot be sped up. If for any reason this refund does not process automatically during this time, it is recommended to reach out so the issue can be resolved. Refunds may take longer with some merchants, but will never exceed 21 days.
If a return is wished to be reported to Zip, the Report a Return button in the Zip app can be used to inform Zip that part (or all) of the order has been returned to the merchant.
